You start the game escaping from a mental asylum, egged on in your escape and killing by someone that appears to be another patient. As much as people laugh at the notion that something like Manhunt 2 is anything other than a sick exercise in killing, or that any attempt at justifying that sick killing with a story is just an excuse, there really is something valid going on here. It isn’t going to make you want to be a psychopath, but it does give you a glimpse at what it might be like to see the world in the disturbing and twisted way that a serial killer might.Īgain, is it the best possible execution of that concept? No it isn’t… but right now it’s the only interactive execution of that concept. Of a person who doesn’t have a complete grasp on reality. It isn’t glorifying violence… it is asking you to walk a few hours in the mind of a sick person. It’s Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer the game. The only thing offensive to me is that my home country of Britain is one of the ones refusing to release even this censored version. Granted, that wasn’t the intention of the developers, and they were unquestionably restrained in that regard (and in a way that directly hurts the gameplay, at least on the Wii), but what we are presented with is not more violent than any other game, nor is its content more morally reprehensible than any other game. In its current form Manhunt 2 is less violent than a lot of games on the market. Remember if you want to ruin your childhood or puberty then play this game.Everyone reading this review knows by now that Manhunt 2 is one of the most controversial games ever released. It is a good game, only thing the themes are too strong to take, it's like torturing and killing is so much that it becomes one of the most inhuman game at a point. Just wait for a few more years until you become an adult and then enjoy it. This is a very strong title, although you may get over it, but you will repent playing it. "yeah, the graphics are outdated, profanity is never a big deal and well, I don't smoke" is what you're thinking. And don't think Mortal Kombat didn't exist at this time. Yeah, you must have watched p*rn, watched some brutal violence and stuff but this is not for children. No doubt you must have watched some Hard-R movies with your parents and it didn't affect you. You kinda have to use your brain to play this game.Įvery child somewhere believes that the AO rating doesn't apply to him/her. Gruesome executions are the most severe of all three execution levels and can be achieved by holding the execution button down for numerous seconds before releasing. Violent executions are achieved by keeping the execute button down for a few seconds before releasing.Īnd Gruesome - Represented by three red reticles around the hunters head. Violent - Represented by three yellow reticles around the hunters head. Hasty executions result in shorter, less gruesome executions. Hasty executions can be achieved by simply holding down the execute button for just a second (No, literally, just a second). Hasty - Represented by three white reticles around the hunters head. You have to do these stealth kills called "executions" where you sneak up on enemies and brutally murder them (silently somehow) and the brutality of each execution is how long you hold down the execution button for and what color the reticle is The game is pretty brutal, on the wii you have to act out the executions with the wii-motes which can get pretty brutal, on the wii version there's a mace you can use (I've personally never played the wii version before, i've played pc only because it's the gorier option and you can get mods to disable certain content filters for violence) I've beaten the game, gotten both endings and played through the game a few times.
